Senator Ibrahim is currently representing Yobe East Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate and is married to Khadija Bukar Abba Ibrahim, Nigeria's minister of state for Foreign affairs.
SaharaReporters learned that the young woman who submitted the video did so to save her life.
As Governor, Ibrahim was a strong advocate for the introduction of Sharia law.
